My former art teacher informed the class about an art competition being put on by an aviation museum. So, we could make whatever we wanted, it just had to do with man made flying machines.
I chose to paint an airplane window overlooking farmland. I mean, I live in Texas and that’s all that can be seen when flying out of state.
I sketched the window and wing out, then let myself go with my favorite watercolor set. I looked up references for the patches of crops, and did my best to paint them.
So, this is what the final product looked like.
I ended up getting 6th place in the competition and my painting is currently on display at the museum.
